Jamie Goodman

Director of Digital Innovation and Technology

Born and raised in Appalachia, Jamie found her home in environmental work at Appalachian Voices in 2008, where she currently oversees the organization’s internal and external technology and digital communications presence.

Jamie holds a B.A. in English literature with a minor in technical photography and brings nearly 30 years of communications experience to her role, including almost two decades in the nonprofit sector. She began her career in community journalism, where she spent ten years honing her skills in production, graphic design, writing, web design, editing and photography. From 2010 to 2016, she served as editor of The Appalachian Voice, guiding coverage that amplified community voices and environmental justice issues across the region.

During her career at Appalachian Voices, Jamie has developed a diverse, cross-functional skill set that bridges advocacy communications, data analysis, digital platform strategy, and IT and technical infrastructure management.

Jamie loves mountains and has a serious soft spot for all creatures great and small — plant, animal, mineral and otherwise.
