Jude Swanson

Jude grew up in the foothills of Appalachia in the small community of Evergreen, Virginia, and now resides in Danville, Virginia.

Jude received a B.S. from Averett University and an MDiv from Wake Forest School of Divinity. Prior to joining Appalachian Voices, he worked in Higher Education for a few years and more recently was the Executive Director for a small homeless shelter.

Jude has a strong belief in the importance of the intersection of people and place, and feels that sharing stories is the best first step towards empathy and action.

Jude enjoys kayaking on the Dan River with his wife, Lesley. You can find them at home hanging out with their two dogs, two cats and three chickens that they love.
