Leah grew up on a 6th generation farm in Blount County, Tennessee, tucked up against the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This deeply ingrained sense of place has driven her passion for environmentalism and community focused planning.
Leah recently completed a Masters of Social Work in sustainable development, with a focus in environmental justice, from the University of Denver. She received her undergraduate degree in Cultural Anthropology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Leah is passionate about renewable energy, energy democracy, sustainable agriculture, farm diversification, food justice and body size & disability inclusion.
