Willie Dodson

Coal Impacts Program Manager

Willie grew up in the piedmont and the mountains of Virginia, and graduated from Berea College with a degree in Appalachian Studies.

Since 2004, Willie has been organizing for environmental and social justice in Appalachia with such groups as the Southern Appalachian Mountain Stewards, the Southern Energy Network and the Mission and Service Board of Union Church in Berea, Kentucky.

Currently residing in western North Carolina, Willie is a musician, an outdoor enthusiast and a forager of wild edible plants and mushrooms. In addition to his work with Appalachian Voices, he is currently working towards a Masters of Divinity from Lexington Theological Seminary.
