
Kate Boyle
Deputy Executive Director
Kate joined Appalachian Voices in 2010, to lead our federal mountaintop removal campaign from Washington, D.C. She brought with her five years of experience working on national and international coal and climate issues with Greenpeace and Rainforest Action Network.
Kate then rose to serve as the organization’s Campaign Director through 2017, bringing her deep roots in organizing and policy acumen to the full scope of the organization’s work. Building on that leadership, she became Deputy Executive Director in 2017 where she has continued to foster the growth and strength of Appalachian Voices.
Originally from the small town of Cashiers in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Kate now resides in Charlottesville, Virginia, with her husband and two young children who share her musical spirit and her love of adventures in the mountains.
