Charlotte Maxwell
Advocacy and Data Analyst, Summer 2026
Charlotte is entering her fourth year at the University of Virginia, where she’s studying Environmental Sciences and Environmental Thought and Practice, and is on track to graduate this December.
Originally from Bedford, Va., Charlotte has always felt a deep connection to the natural world from growing up surrounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. That connection is what drew her to Appalachian Voices. She hopes to help be a voice for the people and places that make this region a home, and she’s excited to take on data projects that do the same.
At UVA, Charlotte is big in the officer corps of her university’s Outdoors Club, excited to go on any adventure, from her backyard to Moab, Utah. She also spent previous summers as an educator at Nature Camp in Vesuvius, Va., teaching a Herpetology and Human Footprint course. She will never pass on a good opportunity to get outside and explore and loves sharing that curiosity with others.
In her free time, you can find Charlotte lost in the grass hunting for four-leaf clovers, excited by any critter that comes her way, jumping into a bluegrass jam with her guitar or working on an art project with her record-player blasting in the background.
