Keira Williamson
Graphic Design/Outreach Intern, Spring 2026
Originally from Black Mountain, N.C., Keira is now living in Boone, pursuing a degree in studio art with a minor in Appalachian studies at Appalachian State University. Her family has lived in Western North Carolina for many generations, which has inspired her to apply her creative ambitions to advocating for the mountains which she calls home.
After working on forestry crews and completing a high school concentration in agriculture, she is adamant about educating herself and others about the wildlife of the Blue Ridge.
Her interests include a myriad of artistic endeavors, such as painting murals, drawing and design. She fosters a passion for the history of her home region, including the rich history of Black Mountain College and its inhabitants. She also enjoys snowboarding, reading and shooting 35mm film.
