Advait Pandit
Digital Analytics Intern, January 2026 - January 2027
Advait Bhaskar Pandit is a Mathematics and Computer Science student at Duke University (Class of 2027) originally from Gilbert, Arizona. He is interested in environmental data science—especially using data to make complicated issues clearer, more actionable and easier to communicate. At Duke, he has worked on projects that blend analysis with real-world impact, including a Data+ project mapping Spartina alterniflora using satellite imagery and computer vision models, and research on “ghost forests” that examines how sea-level rise and saltwater intrusion are transforming coastal ecosystems. He’s also written Python scripts to organize large, messy datasets into more usable systems.
Advait is excited to join Appalachian Voices as a Digital Analytics Intern because the organization pairs environmental justice with public-facing storytelling and advocacy. He likes the idea that good analytics can strengthen strategy, sharpen messaging and ultimately support communities that are directly affected by energy and climate decisions.
Advait is a climber and outdoor leader and has served as a Head Route Setter and Trip Leader with Duke Outdoor Adventures. He is always chasing projects that mix creativity, systems thinking and teamwork.
