Senior Energy Analyst

Kris holds an MA in International Development from the University of Denver and a BA in Anthropology from Barnard College. She has focused her career at the intersection of economic development and sustainable energy access. 

Her nearly 20-year career, both in the United States and overseas, has spanned policy and strategic planning, deployment of renewable energy technologies, climate adaptation and resilience strategy, rural electrification, community livelihood improvement, and all aspects of program and project design and management. 

She joined Appalachian Voices in 2024 from her home base of Western North Carolina, where she balances her work life with travel, family, and time in the woods.
