Kevin Zedack
Government Affairs Specialist
Kevin grew up in west-central Pennsylvania, surrounded by the pride of the coal mining workforce and the awareness of coal’s environmental impacts on the region. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2017, where he studied ecology and political science.
Kevin informs his community engagement and government relations work with biological principles that reflect an understanding of public health, functional landscapes, and an appreciation for nature. He joined the Appalachian Voices team after working at the American Flood Coalition, where he convened national stakeholders on federal flood adaptation policy and state government resilience leaders on implementing flood resilience strategies.
Kevin also previously worked at Cassidy & Associates and the University of Pittsburgh on government affairs and legislative research.
Kevin currently lives in Washington, D.C., where he volunteers with the local Pitt alumni network and is always looking for an excuse to get out into the mountains.
