Jamie Goodman
Director of Digital Innovation and Technology
A western North Carolinian with Appalachian roots stemming back to the mid-1700s, Jamie found her home in environmental work at Appalachian Voices in 2008, where she currently oversees the organization’s internal and external technology and digital communications presence.

She served as Editor of The Appalachian Voice news publication from 2010 to 2016. Other career highlights include two National Newspaper Association awards with Mountaintimes.com, co-founding High Country Press newspaper and Shout! magazine, and serving as Appalachian State University’s webmaster.
She holds a B.A. in English literature and a minor in technical photography from Appalachian State University, and was a member and artist of the Nth Degree Gallery and Studios for 14 years. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, painting, and taking strolls in the park with her cats.
Jamie has a serious soft spot for all creatures great and small, and acknowledges that the generational land her family farmed in Ashe County, North Carolina, was traditional land of the Cherokee, S’atsoyaha (Yuchi) and Moneton People.
