A connection to community and the celebration of all that makes Appalachia special are fundamental to our work. In the ongoing fight to preserve the region we love, Appalachia’s culture, close-knit communities and treasured landscapes sustain us. Thankfully, our values are shared.

On Sunday, September 22, Hill and Holler, a roving farm dinner that brings farmers, chefs, winemakers and the community together to raise money for local organizations, will host a dinner to support our work at Grace Estates in Crozet, Va. Join Appalachian Voices’ staff, members of our board, family, friends and neighbors, and, of course, local culinary artisans to celebrate our work, share stories, laughs and song. Click here to purchase tickets.

The event kicks off at 5:00 p.m. with a reception featuring Potter’s Craft Cider and wine from Grace Estates Winery, not to mention a chance to take in some of the best views of Charlottesville and the surrounding mountains.

Charlottesville-area chefs Jason Alley of Pasture RVA, Pete Evans of Pasture Charlottesville, and Travis Milton of Comfort will serve a meal worthy of these beloved mountains, infused with an Appalachian feel and paired with wines from Grace Estates and Stinson Vineyards.

To appease your ears, husband and wife folk duo James and Audrey Barnes, better known as Hook & Bullet, will play their harmony-driven acoustic music that’s rooted in folk, country and jazz. If you’re curious, check out their sound here.

Locally and across the region, we’re proud to connect and collaborate with groups and individuals that appreciate the cultural and ecological significance of Appalachia as much as we do. We’re delighted that an unbeatable lineup of local chefs and artisans are donating their time and painstakingly created crafts to support our work. So join us on September 22 at Grace Estates. It is sure to be as memorable as a back porch bluegrass sing-a-long or a quiet walk through Appalachian wildflowers.

All proceeds from the Hill and Holler dinner will benefit Appalachian Voices work to protect the land, air, water and communities of Appalachia and the Southeast. Click here to purchase your tickets.
