Williams Companies wants to construct a 54-mile methane gas pipeline and increase the capacity of compressor stations in Virginia and North Carolina. This project, the Southeast Supply Enhancement Project, would include 10 miles of new pipeline through Wallburg, Midway and Welcome.

Anyone who wants to learn more is invited to attend a public informational meeting on June 2 to learn more about the project and its potential impacts, ask questions, learn how to help protect the community and connect with other community members and advocates. Refreshments will be provided.

Monday, June 2, 6:30-8 p.m.

The pipeline would threaten the safety of the surrounding communities, and Wallburg Elementary School is located just 940 feet from the proposed route. SSEP would also include a large expansion of the gas-fired compressor station off of Becky Hill Road that would quadruple its capacity. Plans for the compressor station could increase harmful air pollution and pose a risk to the health of nearby residents.

We would appreciate it if you would include this event in your calendar of events and would welcome any other coverage. Thank you!
