REIDSVILLE, N.C. — On Monday, Feb. 24, health and safety advocates will hold a community meeting to discuss multiple methane gas pipeline projects proposed to come to Rockingham County. At the meeting, attendees will have a chance to learn more about the projects and their potential impacts, connect with other community members and advocates, and learn how to help protect the community. Refreshments will be provided.

WHEN: Monday, Feb. 24, 6:30-8 p.m.
WHERE: Bethlehem United Methodist Church (1891 Bethlehem Church Rd, Reidsville, NC 27320)
WHO: Appalachian Voices

Three corporations (Williams Companies, Enbridge and Equitrans Midstream) want to construct new methane gas pipelines in Rockingham County. These pipelines would pose a safety risk to the surrounding community and jeopardize the property rights of those who live along the proposed pipeline routes. Also, these pipelines are part of a larger plan to build more expensive gas infrastructure across the state that residents could end up having to pay for through higher electric bills.
