CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. — Preserve Cheatham County is proud to announce the first-ever Cheatham County Sasquatch Festival. This uproarious event aims to save our beloved Sycamore Sasquatch from the clutches of progress — namely, the Tennessee Valley Authority’s plans to build a methane gas plant right where he lives. Yes, you heard it right: Bigfoot has officially gone green!

Join us for a day of myth, merriment and mayhem as we rally to protect our forest-dwelling friend. The Cheatham County Sasquatch Festival promises a roaring good time with activities and attractions for all ages:

5K Squatch Run: Put on your running shoes and your best Bigfoot costume for our 5K run! Remember, it’s not just about speed; it’s about style.

Event Details:
Date: Oct. 26, 2024
Time: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Location: Cheatham Lock & Dam, Right Bank Recreation Area
1798 Cheatham Dam Road
Ashland City, TN 37015-9805

Best in Squatch: Don your shaggiest attire and show us your best Bigfoot impression. Winner gets a hefty supply of jerky treats and a free trip to the local barber.

Squatch Call Contest: Think you can mimic the mysterious calls of Sasquatch? Show off your best Squatch calls and compete for the loudest, funniest and most convincing calls.

Cryptid Crafts Corner: Pumpkin painting, tree cookie ornaments and more!

Save the Sycamore Sasquatch Parade: March through the park with your fellow Bigfoot believers to show TVA that we won’t let them squash our Squatch without a fight.

Locally Grown Produce and Products Farmers Market: Support local farmers and artisans at our farmers market, featuring fresh produce and handmade goods. Even Sasquatch enjoys a good farm-to-table meal!

Craft and Artisan Vendors: Explore unique creations from talented craftspeople and artisans, offering handmade jewelry, artwork and more. Perfect for finding that special Sasquatch-themed souvenir!

Food and Drink: Enjoy delicious local fare, including vegetarian options that even Sasquatch would approve of.

All proceeds from the festival will go towards Preserve Cheatham County, dedicated to preserving the habitat of our elusive friend and halting TVA’s methane madness.

“We believe in a world where Sasquatch can roam free, unbothered by industrial encroachment,” said festival organizer Tracy O’Neill. “The TVA’s plan is like putting a skyscraper in the middle of a national park — completely outrageous and totally avoidable. So, whether you’re a cryptozoologist, an environmentalist or just someone who enjoys a good time with great company, come on down to Cheatham Lock & Dam and lend your support. Let’s make sure that the only methane in our air is from a well-timed Sasquatch joke, not a looming gas plant.”

Come for the cause, stay for the legend.
