Pennington Gap Community Flood Preparedness Plan

In 2024, the Town of Pennington Gap, with assistance from Appalachian Voices, applied for and received funding from Round 4 of the Virginia Community Flood Preparedness Fund (CFPF) in the“capacity building and planning” category. 

The resulting flood mitigation strategic plan includes projects (practices and nature-based solutions that could be built to aid with flood preparedness) and program enhancements (codes, workforce programs, incentive programs, and other program elements). 

We are asking for feedback from community members on the current draft of this plan to ensure that it best meets the town’s needs. Input will be accepted and incorporated into the final draft until August 22, 2025.
