EVENT
April 17: Pound, Virginia, Monument to Labor Unveiling

Over the past year and a half, Appalachian Voices has partnered with the town of Pound, the Monuments Across Appalachian Virginia program, local artists and community members to revitalize the site of the former bank building in the heart of downtown. You’re invited to join us for the official unveiling of this exciting project!
Join us for fun Friday festivities on Friday, April 17, as we listen to live music by local artists, hear from leaders of the United Mine Workers of America and Communications Workers of America, and enjoy food prepared by local legend Chef Torrece “Chef T” Gregoire’s team.

This has been a long and winding road, from the demolition of the bank building to the stabilization of the adjacent landslide, but we are so excited to announce the unveiling of Pound’s Monument to Labor! This new public stage features community-designed brick masonry and stained glass that reflects Pound’s past and hopes for the future.
We hope to see you in downtown Pound on Friday, April 17!
