Learn about landslide, wildfire, and flood risks — and how to prepare for Western North Carolina–specific hazards — at a community event on Saturday, May 30, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Warren Wilson College.

“Know Your Risks” will help you with preparedness strategies for your home, family and property. The event will begin with an overview of a recent project that updates Swannanoa’s extreme weather risks and community vulnerabilities. Following the presentation, attendees can participate in breakout sessions focused on understanding local landslide, wildfire and flood risks in the Swannanoa community and across Western North Carolina.

This free event is open to the public with light refreshments served. Children activities will be available along with translation services. Partner organizations will also be on hand to provide helpful resources and answer questions. RSVP for “Know Your Risks” on May 30!
