In Western North Carolina, we look out for our families and each other. Join us to learn about landslide, wildfire and flood risks — and how to prepare for hazards specific to Western North Carolina — at a community event on Saturday, June 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Friends-Montessori School in Woodfin.

“Know Your Risks” will help you develop preparedness strategies for your home, family and property. The event will feature presentations from experts and a guided gallery walkthrough of maps and plans developed as part of a recent project to update Woodfin’s extreme-weather risks and assess community vulnerabilities. Attendees can sign up for one-on-one support to assess risks on their specific properties.

This event is open to the public and offers light refreshments. Translation services will be provided. Partner organizations will also be on hand to provide helpful resources and answer questions. Let’s build a stronger and more prepared community! RSVP for “Know Your Risks” on June 27!
