Dungannon community event to celebrate purchase of land next to depot, plan next steps

DUNGANNON, Va. — A community workshop on Aug. 7 will celebrate the recent purchase of the land beside the Dungannon Depot by the town. The purchase was made possible by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Thriving Communities fund through the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative.
The event will feature a community seed planting, as well as updates about the grant and an opportunity to provide feedback about future events at the space. There will also be a cookout and children’s activities, including a Clinch River rock decorating station and rain barrel painting.
