Colin Street

A lifelong resident of West Virginia, Colin is a junior at West Virginia University (WVU) majoring in Political Science, Environmental & Energy Resources Management, and Multidisciplinary Studies (combining History, Data Science and Rural Community Development).

At WVU he currently serves as the Student Body President, leading an initiative to implement solar energy on campus as a way to reduce institutional energy costs, further the university’s Sustainability Goals and promote post-secondary experiential learning opportunities.

With a passion for promoting a just energy transition in rural communities, Colin has spent two years researching climate justice policies, worked with state and federal environmental technical assistance programs and engaged in equity-based nonprofit work.

In his spare time Colin can be found coaching LEGO robotics, taking care of his pet turtle, reading in a hammock or gardening.
