Andie Waugh

Born and raised in the mountains of Boone, North Carolina, Andie has always had a profound appreciation of Appalachia’s beauty and biodiversity. Her enthusiasm for sustainability led to her work in secondhand retail as well as involvement with local conservation nonprofits. Graduating from NC State University, Andie studied Spanish Language and Culture along with Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management, completing a capstone seminar on Eco-social Transitions in Spain.

During college she worked for the university’s Outdoor Adventures program, studied abroad in Spain, became an NAI certified Interpretive Guide, and volunteered at local elementary schools to provide translation services. Currently residing in Southwest Virginia, Andie enjoys spending time in nature hiking, rock climbing and camping. Her favorite indoor activities include reading and pottery.
