June 16 & 17: MVP Southgate FERC meetings

stop mountain valley pipeline's southgate extension

Mountain Valley Pipeline developers recently submitted a request to federal regulators asking permission to change the route, size, and gas capacity of its proposed Southgate pipeline extension from Pittsylvania County, Virginia, into North Carolina.

Although some of the permitting review processes for the Southgate pipeline have started, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has just opened a new “Notice of Scoping” to hear from the public about which factors it should consider while evaluating MVP’s request to build Southgate. This means FERC is back to the drawing board and needs you to weigh in!Protect Virginia and North Carolina communities from MVP Southgate! Tell FERC to consider MVP Southgate’s impacts on water quality, environment, natural areas and communities.

FERC is hosting two in-person scoping sessions. Attend to ask FERC staff questions about the project and submit a verbal comment.

Want to submit a personalized comment? Attend the Southgate FERC Scoping Comment party hosted by environmental advocates to help draft and submit a comment on Wednesday, June 18, at 6:30 p.m.
