New Conservation and Economy Fund for Southwest Virginia
UVA Wise, in partnership with The Nature Conservancy, announced the Cumberland Forest Community Fund. The grant program, which will disburse $100,000 in funding to nature-based economic and community development projects, is accepting proposals through March 29.

Rural Virginia Receives More Than $3.8 Million in Grants
Gov. Ralph Northam announced that the funding will be disbursed through Community Development Block Grants in the counties of Montgomery, Scott, and Southampton, the towns of Appomattox and Independence, and the city of Norton. In Scott County and Norton, these funds are slated for community development and water infrastructure projects serving more than 200 low- to moderate-income residents.
