Virginia's solar output more than doubles in one year

Spurred by the Virginia Clean Economy Act, solar is soaring in Virginia- with much of it concentrated in Central and Southside Virginia.
 

Wise's Health Wagon breaks ground on new dental clinic

 The Health Wagon is giving the area a reason to smile with the groundbreaking for their new dental clinic. The 10-chair clinic will be equipped to help with a wide variety of dental needs, including crowns and 3-D printed dentures.
 

UVA Wise students help create first eco-tourism guide

UVA Wise students and professor Wally Smith have created a guide for eco-tourism in the High Knob area. Published by the High Knob Regional Initiative, the guide kicks off a years-long project to educate on living our best and most sustainable eco-tourism life in Southwest Virginia.

 

SW Virginia gets share of $2.7 million state pot of marketing money

The Virginia Tourism Corporation’s Marketing Leverage and Regional Marketing Programs has approved $320,000 in tourism-generating grants for eight Southwest Virginia localities.
