Attend a Dominion Energy open house to oppose the Chesterfield gas plant

Community members hold signs saying "No new gas plant!" in opposition to Dominion Energy's proposed methane gas power plant in Chesterfield County

Dominion Energy wants to build a nearly 1,000 megawatt methane gas power plant at the site of its former coal-fired power plant in Chesterfield County, Virginia. The company’s application to build the plant says it will cost $1.5 billion, not counting interest — and customers will have to foot the bill!

Community members are coming together to oppose the harmful environmental and health impacts this plant would have on the surrounding area, which has already suffered from decades of pollution from the former coal plant. Dominion recently announced it is hosting community open house meetings about the proposed gas plant at the end of March.

The open houses are a space to ask Dominion about:

  • Potential health and environmental impacts from the methane gas plant
  • Affordable alternatives to the gas plant that come with clean energy
  • Changes to the proposed plant’s original design and location

Join us at Dominion’s open houses to learn more about Dominion Energy’s proposed gas plant and say no to this harmful project!
