Group will restore woodpecker habitat
[South Carolina] Landowners and organizations across the Southeast will receive nearly $1.4 million to help wildlife conservation, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service announced Thursday. In South Carolina, Milliken Forestry Resources Inc. and 45 other private landowners and organizations will receive nearly $500,000 to help efforts to protect the endangered red-cockaded woodpecker.
