Over a 5-year period beginning in FY2000, the Forest Service invested roughly $100 million in fifteen Community-Based Watershed Restoration Partnership (CBWRP) projects located across the nation. These watershed partnership projects were established to demonstrate innovative ways to improve watershed, forest, range, water, and habitat conditions at a river-basin scale. Numerous state and local government agencies, community organizations, and private parties invested time, money, and other resources in the CBWRP. The report outlines achievements and obstacles and provides recommendations to avoid or overcome the constraints that may have prevented more from being accomplished.
