Tips and Resources

Fall is Approaching, Make Sure Your Insulation is Ready!

Before the leaves start changing colors, set aside time to check out the insulation in your crawlspace and attic to make sure it's sufficient to keep you warm throughout the upcoming cold months.

A few things to look for: Is your insulation thick enough? Make sure you can't see the rafters in your attic. Is it evenly distributed? Insulation needs to be even, or else there will be areas where air can escape. Are there any holes or gaps? The attic door, recessed lighting, and plumbing entries are common sources of holes in insulation which allow air to escape.
