Get involved with the 2019 National Solar Tour!

Help your community learn more about solar power by hosting a solar open house.

Appalachian Voices is proud to be partnering on the 2019 National Solar Tour, a nationwide initiative to help people learn about the advantages of solar in their communities, and we would love for you to be involved! If you’ve gone solar, we invite you to sign up to host a solar open house on the National Solar Tour (in October 2019) to show off your solar energy system and share your experience going solar with interested members of your community! If you are considering going solar or generally support solar, we encourage you to attend an open house on the National Solar Tour – view the events that are currently scheduled, and check back often, as many more events will be added between now and October!

About the Tour
The National Solar Tour is a chance for people all around the country to learn about solar, meet their neighbors and see solar power at work in their communities. Solar owners host open house events to share their experience going solar, and interested visitors get the opportunity to ask questions and consider going solar themselves. Events are volunteer-led, free and open to the public. The Tour is organized by Solar United Neighbors and the American Solar Energy Society, along with tons of local organizations and solar installation companies across the country.

Sign up to host a solar open house as part of the National Solar Tour

If you have a solar power system, the National Solar Tour is your chance to connect with your community about solar! You can sign up to host an open house on the National Solar Tour at www.nationalsolartour.org/host. Anyone in the country who has solar can participate – homes, businesses, non-profit organizations, places of worship, etc. Hosting a solar open house is easy, and you don’t even need to invite people into your home or building if you don’t want to. All you need is the willingness to talk with interested members of your community about your experience going solar. You choose the day and time frame for your event, and the National Solar Tour team will send you resources and help you spread the word!

Registration to host a solar open house as part of the Tour is open through September 6th. If you’re interested in participating this year, check out the National Solar Tour website and sign up to participate!
